What exactly does MettaTrackAI™ do?+
MettaTrackAI™ is an AI-powered health tracking app built specifically for people with Type 2 diabetes and those following a ketogenic diet. You connect your CGM device (like Freestyle Libre or Dexcom), describe your meals in plain language, and the app automatically logs nutrition data, tracks glucose and ketone readings, calculates your GKI score, and generates professional PDF reports for your doctor. The goal is to help you understand the relationship between what you eat and how your blood sugar responds — without the manual data entry burden of traditional apps.
How is this different from MyFitnessPal or Carb Manager?+
Those apps are built for general calorie and macro tracking. MettaTrackAI™ is built specifically around blood glucose management. The key differences: we use AI to parse meal descriptions in natural language (no barcode scanning), we integrate directly with CGM devices so you can see how specific meals affect your glucose in real time, we calculate GKI (Glucose Ketone Index) automatically, and we generate medical-grade PDF reports formatted for clinical appointments. No other app in this category combines all four of these capabilities.
Which CGM devices are supported?+
We currently support Apple Health for glucose data (live now) and Keto-Mojo via Bluetooth for glucose and ketone readings simultaneously (live now). Freestyle Libre integration via LibreView API and Dexcom G6/G7 integration are launching very soon — pending final API approval. If you use a different CGM, you can enter readings manually or sync through Apple Health if your CGM supports it.
What fitness trackers and health platforms are supported?+
Apple Health is live now. Fitbit, Google Fit, Samsung Health, Garmin Connect, Oura Ring, Whoop, Strava integrations are all live. These connections bring in activity data — steps, heart rate, exercise sessions — so you can see how physical activity correlates with your glucose levels alongside your food intake.
How accurate is the AI food logging?+
MettaTrackAI™ offers three ways to log food — all AI-powered. Text logging: type "burger and fries" and GPT-4 returns instant macros. Photo logging: snap a picture of your plate and AI analyzes what's there, estimates portions, and returns a full nutritional breakdown — no typing at all. Voice logging — hands-free meal entry: speak your meal hands-free and AI logs it automatically. All values are editable before saving. We recommend spot-checking entries for foods you eat regularly.
What is GKI and why does it matter?+
GKI stands for Glucose Ketone Index — a ratio calculated from your blood glucose and ketone levels that measures the depth of your metabolic ketosis. It was developed by researcher Thomas Seyfried and is used clinically to assess how effectively someone is maintaining therapeutic ketosis. A GKI below 3 indicates deep therapeutic ketosis; 3–6 is moderate. MettaTrackAI™ calculates this automatically whenever you have both glucose and ketone readings, and tracks it over time. No other mainstream consumer app currently offers automatic GKI tracking.
What does the medical PDF report include?+
The report covers a selectable date range (7, 14, or 30 days) and includes: glucose trend charts with time-in-range analysis, meal log summary with macro breakdown, ketone readings and GKI history, exercise log, and key statistics your doctor will want to see at a glance. It's formatted to be clinically useful — not just a data dump. You can share it via email, AirDrop, or print it for appointments.
Is this a replacement for my doctor, CGM device, or medication?+
No — MettaTrackAI™ is a tracking and insight tool, not a medical device or treatment. It is designed to support conversations with your healthcare provider by giving you better-organized data, not to replace their guidance. Always follow your doctor's recommendations for medication, diet, and monitoring. The app does not provide medical advice or diagnoses.
Is the app available on iPhone and Android?+
Yes — MettaTrackAI™ is being developed for both iOS and Android. Join the beta list to be notified when your platform is ready for download. Beta testing is beginning on iOS first.
Does the app work offline?+
Yes. Core logging features — manual food entry, glucose and ketone logging, GKI calculation, and basic charts — work fully offline. AI food parsing requires an internet connection since it calls the GPT-4 API. Cloud sync and CGM integration also require connectivity, but your local data is always available on-device.
